I could it see it coming. Many could. I worked as a Graphic Designer for title company in Lake Havasu City but on October 3rd I was told I was laid off. I had most of my things already packed, a box for the last few things on my desk and my computer was completely clean of anything personal I didn't want to leave behind. I was ready and my manager was very kind to me as she took to a private room to discuss my lay off. She was very sympathetic and helpful. The Marketing Manager was also there to answer any questions I had.
When I left the company that day, I wasn't too worried because I believed that with a good budget and my husband's income, we would be alright. I went home and unpacked everything still feeling like it was all a dream. It took me a few days to totally accept that I was going to have to find another job or try to do some kind of work from home.
I spoke with my husband about this period in my life and I decided this wasn't the end but should be instead, a new start in my life. It is often said when a door closes, God opens a window to something new. So here I am. I hope everyone who reads this blog finds motivation and inspiration from my thoughts here.
